Antiracism, Anticolonialism, and Social Justice Learning Series: Session IV

Description

Overview:

Anti-Racism, Anti-Colonization and Social Justice is an experiential and relational learning series. We focus on Indigenous and intercultural exchange, knowledge sharing, the critical retelling of “his”story, learning/unlearning, accountability and relationships. The purpose and goals are as follows:

  • Mobilizing actions to address and interrupt white privilege and other forms of oppression through learning/unlearning, building relationships of trust and accountability, and solidarity.

  • Enhancing solidarity, learning/unlearning, support and strategic alliances among Indigenous and racialized people.

  • Building bridges and strengthening our goals as (informed and trusted) allies in creating and anti-oppressive society

  • Influencing collective action through an intersectional (race, class, culture, gender/gender and sexual identity, all-abilities, faith etc.) framework.

This series is made possible by ACSW Social Workers for Social Justice Calgary; Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary; Alberta Network of Immigrant Women and a number of committed educators and activists. The Faculty of Social Work has approved 15 ACSW category A credits for this series. Participants must attend 4 of 5 sessions to receive the credits.
